My Favorite Diet

ree

I heard someone say this week, “My favorite diet is keto.” I smiled, because I hear that a lot — sometimes it’s fasting, sometimes it’s carnivore, or something else entirely.

What’s interesting is that most of these “diets” were actually designed to treat a medical condition — not for long-term, everyday living. And while they can be helpful in certain situations, the truth is, they’re often hard to sustain.

Here’s what I see all the time: Someone finds a diet that “works.” They lose 20, maybe 30 pounds. But then… the weight slowly creeps back on — and sometimes even more. It’s not because you failed. It’s because your body has been taught to survive restriction. When you drastically cut calories or eliminate food groups, your metabolism adapts. Then, when you start eating normally again, your body clings to every calorie, thinking it has to protect you.

The truth is — we don’t want a favorite diet. We want a way of eating that feels good. That fuels our bodies, keeps us strong, and lets us enjoy life — including cake at birthdays — without guilt or fear of “undoing” our progress. We want to eat and be aware of how that food makes us feel.

Fasting, keto, carnivore — they all have pieces that can teach us something about our bodies. But what most of us are really craving is balance. Food that nourishes. Energy that lasts. A plan that fits into real life — not the other way around.

Especially for women, it’s time to rewrite the story. We’re not meant to shrink ourselves anymore. The days of trying to live on 1,000 calories and chasing the smallest version of ourselves are behind us. We deserve strength, confidence, and energy that lasts.

That’s exactly what I teach my clients — how to nourish your body in a way that’s sustainable and empowering. I want you to feel good — strong in your workouts, clear in your mind, steady in your energy, and at peace with food.

Because the best “diet” isn’t a diet at all — it’s learning how to take care of yourself with love, wisdom, and grace.
